Prominence with RLSHEdit

In the world of Real Life Superheroes, Peter Tangen is known for the Real Life Super Hero Project, started in 2010 wherein he attempts to catalog members of the Real Life Superhero movement through photo (examples of which are viewable here). His efforts to capture in a professionally pleasing way the faces and costumes that had previously only been recorded with amateur efforts of varying degrees of success made him famous among the RLSH community and was soon able to gather groups of RLSH together in heretofore large settings from across the country. Peter Tangen's entry into the world of RLSH marked a watershed moment in the coming of age of the RLSH as a community at large and greatly enabled their ability to gain media attention due to the ready supply of media-friendly images.

The RLSH Project was also the seed that eventually gave birth to RealLifeSuperheroes.com before its demise in August 2012 due to hosting issues. However, the site was soon back up in September 2012 after resolving those issues. Peter Tangen's photographs for the Real Life Superhero Project are also widely available online in various forms or another through the individual pages and profiles of the RLSH or through use in news articles.
